Welcome to The Heavenly Haven's first Coffee with Jesus blog! The topic this week is "Come to the Table". What do I mean by that? It is a line that I have used here lately in my own time with the Lord and with the ladies in Sunday School. When I come to the table, I am meeting the Lord there. It is my prayer at that time that He speak to me and teach me, that He just be with me. Coming to the table is very personal!
It will be a theme throughout my writing because as a Christian woman, it is my belief that meeting the Lord at the table is one of the most important things that you can do. In today's time we are so very busy! We women have many roles...daughter, mother, employer/employee, cook, cleaner, Christian (or not), and that doesn't even break the surface. But while we have these many titles, the most important one is that you are a child of God. Any good and loving Father wants time with their child, and as children we always wanted our parents attention! This is what is satisfied when we come to the table!
When we come, we are saying "okay Lord, I value you enough to spend time with you." So many sit in a pew on Sunday and never come to the table, they never break the surface level. That is so sad!!! We have such an AMAZING God! He is so good and it is to our own detriment that we choose not to spend the time with Him for that is where the true blessing lies. It's Him. He is the biggest blessing of all and if we will just meet Him at the table the blessings will be on overflow!!!
So I invite you to the table. As we learn and make the time to spend with Him each week I can assure you, you will not regret it! Do you remember an adult, mom, dad, grandma or grandpa that you used to love to crawl in their lap and you felt so safe and loved? Well, we are about to crawl in the lap of our good good Father. Let me encourage you to read Psalm 91 and write it on your heart because that is what happens....when we come to the table.
